This is in Pere-Lachaise cemetery in Paris. Check out the kisses. I don't think the oil in lipstick can be too good for the stone... Anyway, Pere-Lachaise was the prototype of the 'New Cemeteries' that became popular in the early 19th century. Before that people had been buried in church yards and these were completely overcrowded and unhygenic. With the 'New Cemeteries' the design was park-like, an 'Elysian Fields' rather than a charnel ground.
